The ultimate valentine has been sent to us.
It expresses is an unending love of such magnitude that it is hard for us grasp, far beyond our limited comprehension. But it is so real.
The Word of God explains the valentine in the following verses:
“This is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us & sent His Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.” 1John 4:10
“God demonstrates his own love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8
This amazing love protects us.
“Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail.” Lamentations 3:22
The love of the valentine is never ending.
“…his love endures forever.” Ps 118:1
His love is dependable. What a relief for our weary hearts!
“We know and rely on the love God has for us.” 1 John 4:16
We are safe in God’s love.
“There is no fear in love. Perfect love drives out fear.” 1John 4:18
God desires for us to respond to this valentine of love, first through loving Him.
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul with all your strength and with all your mind.” Luke 10:27
Then, we are not to keep it to ourselves, but share His love with others.
“Love your neighbor as yourself.” Luke 10:27
“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.” John 13:34
This valentine of love can change us from victim to victor. It empowers us because we know we are loved. When we know we are loved we can live with greater confidence.
“We are more than conquerors through him who loved us.” Romans 8:37
Nothing can separate us from His love. Ever.
